The network’s purpose is to create equality in health for vulnerable patients in hospital regimes.

The network is primarily aimed at health professionals in the hospitals that are part of the network, who focuses on research into equality in health, including socially-exposed patients who come into contact with the hospital.

Background

There is a tendency towards increased inequality in health despite the opportunities offered by the Danish health services. Not all citizens are offered what they need, and some have difficulties using the offers that are available.

Common to all citizens in Denmark is that they come into contact with the emergency departments if an illness suddenly emerges, or if they experience other acute health-threatening situations.

The hospitals and their emergency departments are therefore obvious places to identify citizens and vulnerable groups in need of special health care interventions.

The network is a multidisciplinary, brickless collaboration forum for:

  • Center for Emergency Research, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark
  • Clinical Research Center, Amager and Hvidovre Hospital, Denmark
